Answer to Question provided by Cynthia Knight
Jeopardy format....so somebody will have to provide the question to this "Publishing, Piracy and Politics" answer....
(By the way...this is a Double Jeopardy question) In his novel, Publishing, Piracy and Politics,John Feather writes in Chapter 2 "From Customs to Statue 1640-1710" that one of the House of commons first battles was to protect the privileged copies, and particularly the English Stock. The attack on them was renewed early in 1641 when this pamphlet ________ written by this man ___________ was published.
Referring to page 38, which also provides the answer, this man was involved in the illegal trade of English Bibles. This was considered a threat because the English had until this time had a monopoly.
Since this is my own made up game of Jeopardy, I would also like open up to the audience a discussion that refers Milton and his reference to this affair in the Areopagitica on page 39. :)
